Its really easy to get involved with Motley.


Motley is written and edited entirely by students. There is always room for new blood, whether you want to become an editor or simply to contribute an occasional article. Motley welcomes both seasoned journalists as well as those who have never written before.

You can get involved in any of the following capacities: 

Editing


All editorial posts are advertised in the magazine at the end of the academic year. Vacant posts are also advertised throughout the year. Staff Writer/Staff Photographer


Staff writers are responsible for writing at least one article per month in their chosen section. We are currently looking for staff writers in our news features, fashion and sport sections. Columnist


Motley has a number of columnists, in both our news opinion, entertainment and lifestyle sections. Opinion columnists write fortnightly columns of 700 words on topical issues. Once-off contributions


If you wish to write a once-off article, please email us at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to make sure it is suitable for publication. **We cannot guarantee that unsolicited articles will be published**

**IMPORTANT**

Once you have been commissioned to write an article, the relevant section editor will give you a deadline before which to complete it (if you cannot make the deadline, please let the section editor know as soon as possible). 

If you need some guidance when writing your article, check out our Style Guide (link). 

Articles should preferably be typed in Microsoft Word and saved as a .doc file (no .rtf files etc.) 

You can submit your article by emailing it to the relevant section editor. 

If you wish to discuss any aspect of writing for the paper, feel free to email any of the editors (if you wish, you can make an appointment to meet them in advance by emailing the relevant editor).
