Clubs Executive Meetings

These meeting are weekly within term. Items discussed are

• Finance Reports
• Liaison Officer Reports
• PE Department Reports
• Students Union Reports
• Clubs Policies
• Up coming events
• Any and all other Club issues

Clubs Executive Finance Meetings

Membership of the committee is

1. This is where the finances are decided. The UCC Clubs ExecutivePresident (Chairman of the Committee)
2. Vice President of the UCC Clubs Executive
3. Treasurer of the UCC Clubs Executive
4. The Director of Physical Education and Sport (Secretary of the Comittee)

These meetings are weekly to decide club funding and to make financial policy.

Students Union Executive

The Clubs President is the Clubs Officer on this committee. These meetings are weekly during term. The Clubs make clubs/sport policies for the Students Union. It is of great importance that these meetings are attended by the Clubs President as many college wide issues are raised.

Students’ Union Student Activities Committee

The immediate oversight committee for student activities, seeks to develop joined up policy for student events.

Students Union Council

The Clubs Officer is a voting member of SU Council by virtue of being on the Students Union Executive. Important college issues are raised at these meetings. The meetings are approx fortnightly.

Clubs Meetings (Committee, Club AGM’s, Club EGM’s)

A Clubs Liaison officer may be asked to attend any club meeting. A member of the Clubs Executive must be present at a Clubs AGM/EGM to ensure fair procedures are followed.

Joint Board for Student Experience

The Clubs President sits on this committee. The committee meets 6 times a year and reports to the VP for student experience. All constitution, major policy changes, major college/club issues come to this meeting. Both members of staff and the students union sit on this committee.

Bank of Ireland Sponsorship Committee

This committee meets approx twice during the year. The Clubs President is the only student rep on the committee. This is the committee that decides the amount of sponsorship each Club gets from Bank of Ireland. I believe it is very unfair only one student rep is on this committee when so much money is at stake.

Mardyke Board of Management

The Clubs President has a seat on the Mardyke BOM. Outstanding Club issues can be raised here.

Sports Scholarship Interviews

This is the committee that decides the sports scholarships. The ClubsPresident is the only student rep on the committee. There are 3 meetings over 3 days and it is very hard for a student to attend if they have college work.

College Bar Committee

The students union have 6 seats on the bar committee one of which is theClubs President’s. Decision on the ‘Old’ Bar and Pavilion Bar are made at this meeting.

PE Department

Members of the Clubs Executive frequently have meetings with members of the PE Department discussing Clubs and College matters.
